In Seascape Painting Level 1 You Will Learn A Simple Easy Approach To Seascape Painting Designed For Beginners
“PAINTING SEASCAPES – LEVEL 1″
Discover How Easy It Is To Paint Great Looking Seascape Paintings
Even If You Are An Absolute Beginner.
If you have always wanted to learn how to paint great looking seascapes and beach scenes but you were not sure were to start then this is the course for you.
Over the course of 6 weeks we will be breaking down how to paint realistic seascapes into a step-by-step process. Each step in painting a seascape will be explained to you through video in great detail. You simply follow along and complete the exercises and by the end of the 6 weeks you will know exactly what you need to know to get started painting the seascapes you love.
This course is ideal for beginners and even those who have never picked up a brush before. We will explain all you need to know to get started, what art supplies you need including brushes, paints and canvases etc. The course is suitable for both oil painting and acrylics.
Here is what we will be covering over the course of 6 weeks:
Week 1 – Introduction + Skies
We begin with an introduction to seascape painters for beginners. We will discuss the importance of composition and look at the most critical factor of where to place the horizon.
Then we will begin looking at skies as they dictate the overall mood of a scene. We will start out by painting a simple clear blue sky on a sunny day. Next we will add in some simple but realistic clouds. Finally we will look at how to paint the effect of the setting sun in the sky. (This is a simple technique but has great effects).
Week 2 – Ocean & Waves
In virtually every seascape painting there is going to be the ocean. So in week 2 we will look at establishing the ocean horizon, choosing the right colours, the transition of colours as it moves towards the sand. Then we will look at waves in the distance and breaking waves near the shore line. You will be able to paint simple yet realistic ocean and waves in no time.
Week 3 – Sand
Of course with every seascape painting you will be painting in sand. You need to know how to paint wet sand vs dry sand and also wet sand that is reflecting the sky colour. Plus you will learn how to transition from the breaking waves and water foam to the sand. Getting your sand to look right is essential to a good seascape painting so you will want to learn the principles here.
Week 4 – Mountains, Cliffs & Rocks
Often in good seascape paintings you will find there are distant mountains, or cliffs, and usually rocks. Its great to know how to paint these realistically as they add so much to your seascape painting. So in week 4 we will study how to paint each of these elements to really enhance the overall scene you are painting.
Week 5 – Foreground, People, Seagulls, Pebbles & Seaweed
Now that we are in week 5 we will focus on the foreground. This is so important to finish off your seascape painting. There are so many elements you might want to put into your foreground such as people walking along the beach, seagulls flying through the air, pebbles and rocks and even seaweed. We will explore each of these elements and discuss where to place them in your painting for the right perspective.
By the time you have finished week 5 you will have completed at least four small seascape studies just from doing the exercises given to you.
Week 6 – Paint Your First Seascape
Finally in week 6 I will paint a complete demonstration painting of a typical seascape for you which will pull together all of the elements we have learnt in the previous five weeks. It is important that you understand how each of the previous weeks lessons all work together to form one complete painting. I will give you in depth instruction and then you get to follow along and paint it as well.
I can assure you that no matter what your skill level is right now if you follow our week by week instructions, and complete each of the simple exercises, you will improve your painting by the end of the six week course. Our unique method of teaching breaks each step down into simple easy to follow instructions that you just follow along with. If you have always wanted to learn how to paint great seascapes then now is the time to get started.
